Why We are Plucky Recyclers
By: A CatEyeGirl  -  3/16/2013

One of the businesses that we both support and follow is
bWyse.com.

bWyse posted the following question on their facebook page:

Tell me why you started your business . . . what inspired you to do what you are doing todayGreat question.

We recycle and repurpose old stuff because:

We get an opportunity to learn something new every day.  It keeps us moving forward.

We love vending at vintage markets and antique shows.  They are inspiring.

We love meeting vintage market customers who love the same old stuff we do.  It makes us feel connected.

We love it when a display comes together.  It makes us feel clever and creative.

We enjoy sharing what we know about antiques and vintage elements with our customers.  Knowledge, when shared, is the gift that keeps on giving.

We love being self-employed, even if we earn less and work more.  Self-employment connects the dots between work and play.

We love the hunt, especially when we find an orphan Flamingo to add to our flock.  Flamingos make us happy and reminiscent of a simpler time . . . our grandmother's overstuffed couch, barkcloth drapes, Sunday dinner . . . .

We love fixing old things.  We are our father's daughters -- brought up to be independent and resourceful.

We do what we do because it isn't a J O B . . . it's a lifestyle

Your turn . . . what inspired you to do what you are doing today?

Do share.  And, if you've learned a funky junk thing or two or found a little funky junk inspiration by what you read here . . .
