We should have taken a picture . . . we were given a 1950s tablecloth that would win the grand prize at any state fair for having the most stains . . . and we got them out!
First, we followed our own stain removing strategy which wasn't potent enough for the job.
"Hmmm . . . free tablecloth that no one will ever want . . . nothing ventured, nothing gained. Time to experiment and pull out all the stops . . . ."
So we loaded the washing machine again with hot water, laundry soap, 10-12 scoops of OxyClean . . . then added several capfuls of "Sol U Mel," a Melaleuca (Tea Tree) oil based cleaner, and let it soak for another couple hours. It worked!
It was so successful that we are hunting for another test case, a real prize winner, that we can test by just using Sol-U-Mel first. At this juncture we don't know whether it was the Sol-U-Mel or the combination of OxyClean, laundry soap and Sol-U-Mel. More testing is required and we might discover that a step could be eliminated . . . we'll keep you posted on our test results . . . right after we find another horribly stained tablecloth.
Sol-U-Mel is sold online and manufactured and distributed by Melaleuca.
