Source of Inspiration to Raise a Mule!
By: A Cat Eye Girl  -  8/30/2011

We like to say that "you get our inspiration from where ever you can."  Meet Larry and Kathy who visited us at the Rustique Divafunky junk, funky junk show, antique show, vintage market, waterville, spokane, seattle, portland, yakima, walla walla, puyallup, hillsboro, tri-cities, kennewick, pasco, snohomish, washington, oregons Vintage Market in Waterville last weekend and bought themselves a unique source of inspiration!

Larry is a big strapping guy with boots on, the kind real cowboys wear.  Kathy is diminutive, with a warm smile and gracious demeanor.  She points out to Larry that the US Cavalry horse / mule blankets that Agent 99 brought to the show would be perfect for their mule.  Larry agrees.

Agent 99 jumps into the conversation and asks, "do you have a mule?"  "No."  That "no" tickles a funny bone.

So here are customers who are seriously considering purchasing a US Cavalry mule blanket so their would-be mule will be well-dressed.  We get another good laugh in and Agent 99 is thinking that since they have no mule, they have no need for a blanket to keep it warm or make any kind of fashion statement at the trail head. The end, right?  Not so.  Out of nowhere comes an unforeseen twist.

Kathy looks up at Larry and sweetly says, "I'll buy one for you for your birthday if you want me to."  Larry smiles down at Kathy and says, "I'll buy the other one for you for your birthday if you want me to."

Hence, Larry and Kathy have two government issued US Cavalry mule blankets for a mule they don't have . . . they came to an outdoor antique show and left with the inspriation to breed Larry's mare, a Suffolk mare named Annie, to a jack and raise a mule.  Albeit a mule with good fashion sense!
