Galvanized Tubs Repurposed
By: A Cat Eye Girl  -  1/12/2011

Once a staple in domestic laundry facilities, the galvanized wash tub on a matching stand has been outsourced to front loaders. It is obsolete . . . or is it a perfect candidate for being repurposed?

A galvanized wash tub is a container and in that respect is a natural for being repurposed.

Here are five ways to repurpose a wash tub:

  1. An entryway receptacle for winter boots, hats and gloves.
  2. An eye level display for 1930s quilts or rolled up 1950s tablecloths.
  3. A towel dispenser for your guest bathroom that lacks cabinets.
  4. A laundry basket.
  5. A serve-yourself beverage dispenser at a garden party.
